New Album For Jennifer Nettles

Jennifer Nettles

Jennifer Nettles is busy! She has been headlining the Women of Country tour. She’s released a dramatic new music video to back up her power ballad titled “Unlove You” that was released in 2015. Nettles has had great success both as a member of the very popular Country Duo Sugarland, with Kristian Bush, and now solo. (Sugarland is  currently “on hiatus” seemingly indefinitely and both members have been pursuing solo careers since 2013) Now Nettles is also planning a new solo album release, aptly named Playing With Fire. This second solo album includes songs written by Brandy Clark, and more collaborations with Shane McAnally, Jessie Jo Dillon and Lori McKenna. Jennifer Odessa Nettles, the 41 year old blonde bombshell of a star in the industry who has also charted with rocker Bon Jovi back in 2006, is All-American and associated with top talents such as Lionel Richie and John Legend. Her first solo album That Girl was released on January 14, 2014, coming in 1st place on the US Country charts. It has grossed about $165,000 USD in sales.

Championing the CMT Next Women in Country program, Jennifer Nettles is literally on fire, it seems the cravings for more of her will not be abated anytime soon. Playing with Fire is the first collection with Big Machine Records and is set to become available on May 13th. It is produced by Dann Huff and the first single from the album appeared last year, getting a television debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Only the “Unlove Me” track has been released so far, and we are waiting for more information about the rest of the list that promises 11 songs with a “ton of sass and emotion and fun.” At the moment, she is on a 30+ city tour with CMT 2016, spanning across the US and Canada.

The Grammy-winning artist champions women in the industry by working hard herself and encouraging women to have a similar multifaceted life. After all, she is one of the reasons that NBC can boast having the most-watched television movie in four years as she appeared on the Christmas special, Coat of Many Colours. Acting seems to agree with Nettles and it’s always a treat to see her make a guest appearance.
