With the recent second anniversary of Prince’s death, it was revealed that plenty of unreleased work from the music star will be unveiled soon. This massive collection of new music consists of previously unreleased and unheard of versions of Prince’s songs including “Nothing Compares 2 U”. There are also several raw videos that include rehearsal footage. The collection will dive deep into Prince’s discography, which is filled with music and videos that diehard Prince fans will want to get their hands on.

In addition to the new Prince album and videos, there are also two websites that will be launched. One site will provide fans with the opportunity to share the memories they had with the music star, and will be named “Prince2me”. The other website will be focused on Prince’s discography.

All of these materials are being released by the artist’s estate, along with Troy Carter and his company Atom Factory. Carter, aside from being an entertainment adviser, is also a creative director for Spotify. While still alive, Prince was highly protective of his music and kept these materials inside a vault. Now Carter and his team have taken charge of the musical archive.

In an interview with Variety magazine, Carter confirmed that the new Prince album composed of the previously unreleased material from Prince’s “vault” will be released on September 28 of this year. The full-length album will be released through Warner Bros. Records.

As of now, only the music and videos that are associated with Prince’s legacy are confirmed for release on the new album. Carter has cited that The Prince Museum will be responsible for overseeing other memorabilia from the music star including some of his notable wardrobe pieces, lyric books, photos and letters.
