We recently had the opportunity to interview the amazing Abby Stephens, an up-and-coming star in the country music scene! At only 14 (soon to be 15-years-old), she’s already making quite a name for herself in the music industry.

Abby has a pretty incredible story. When she began taking piano and vocal lessons at the young age of 7, her mother noticed how much her daughter absolutely loved music. So, she enrolled Abby in a local music school. It wasn’t long after this that Abby was entering her first singing competition in her home state of North Carolina and coming in as a runner-up. Abby recalled singing in the contest as the first time she knew for sure that she wanted to be a professional singer.

At the age of 10, she started writing her own songs. She penned the song “Best Day Ever”, which won the Carolina Music Award for 2016’s Youth Music Video of the Year. This song was inspired by the feelings of anxiety and adrenaline that she experiences right before going on stage!

Abby considers herself an “old soul”, despite her young age. She’s able to sit down and pen songs that are insightful and deep. It’s clear that she’s driven by her passion and the people that surround her. Abby’s music is uplifting, and many of her songs are inspired by her own life experiences. Her musical genre is a mix of country, pop, and Christian. However, she will be the first to tell you that she listens to a wide range of musical genres.

Her Best Day Ever Foundation is close to her heart. It’s her way of pursuing her passion for helping others. The foundation works like a mini-local-Make-A-Wish. The money that she raises through her foundation is used to give gifts or opportunities to people in need, whether they are children or adults. Her goal is to help make someone’s day the best ever (just like her song)! She made the day of our interview the best day ever. Thank you for chatting with us! We can’t wait to see all of the incredible things you accomplish!
