Gavin DeGraw Rocks Phoenix with his MAKE A MOVE Tour
by Lesa Browning
Soulful rocker Gavin DeGraw brought his Make A Move tour to Phoenix’s Celebrity Theater along with support from Pop band Parachute and singer/songwriter Rozzi Crane. DeGraw will be touring the US all summer, including a few cruise ship dates out of Florida. The Make a Move tour will continue on to Europe in the Fall.
DeGraw played to a very receptive crowd as he showed his fans that he decided to shake things up a little on his fifth studio album. With foot stomping beats and more Pop sounds than DeGraw has had in the past, Make A Move is full of eclectic songs that have his sound being compared to The Lumineers, early Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars. This translates into a great big party on stage. DeGraw had the audience up and clapping to the fast paced hit Best I Ever Had and I am not sure many ever sat back down. I felt like we were at a sing-along as fans joined in for hits like Finest Hour and I Don’t Want To Be. DeGraw has perfected his stage presence over the last decade and clearly loves his fans as much as they love him. There was no shortage of chatter, hand shaking, autograph signing and just his general fun, down to earth personality. Together with his band, they made sure everyone in the room was having a great time. With the spectacular vocals that Gavin DeGraw is known for, this made for a great show!
This was my first time at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. I certainly plan to return! What a great concert venue. Easy to get to, tons of parking as well as public transportation if needed, a well stocked bar and snack bar, clean restrooms, large organized merch area and more. But most importantly I want to mention the fabulous staff at the Celebrity who I noticed going out of their way all night to help patrons, they were a class act all the way. Thank you!
