Justin Bieber Wins Big At European Music Awards

Not only did Justin Bieber give a stellar performance at the MTV Europe Music Awards, he also came home with the most awards after the star-studded night was over.
One of the few award shows outside of North America that Americans actually pay attention to, the EMA’s brought in everyone from Taylor Swift to Pharrell Williams, who closed out the event with a live version of his hit song “Freedom.” The night was held in Milan, Italy, and brought in some talent from closer afield as well, including the evening’s host, Ed Sheeran.
Regardless of all the talent in the room, it was Bieber who walked away with 6 EMA awards for Biggest Fans, Best Male, Best Canadian Act, Best Worldwide Act: North America, Best Collaboration (with Jack U), and (just to stroke his ego a little) Best Look. The world-famous 21-year-old had the cute quip, “I don’t know what to say because I got these looks from my momma” as he accepted that final award.
But the number of awards wasn’t what impressed us about Bieber’s night at the EMAs, it was his off-the-charts performance. Bieber sang “What Do You Mean,” a song he’d also performed at the VMAs (which actually ended in him crying a little, citing pressure and negative feedback and even booing when performing in the past).
If that doesn’t melt the hearts of Bieber fans, than knowing that he managed this version without a single tear just goes to show how far the singer has come. We have to hand it to him, having reached fame at such a young age, he has done pretty well in cleaning up his act and giving it his all.
The EMA performance wasn’t showy, just Bieber out on the stage dancing to a light-up backdrop. It was eerily like the latest Drake video, except Justin Bieber actually seems to know how to dance!
