Ringo Starr’s Got Friends Helping on New Album

Paul McCartney is among the multiple friends helping make Ringo Starr’s latest album a masterpiece. Set to arrive on September 15, 2017, the album cover of Give More Love exudes a very ‘70s meets the new millennium vibe. It will be a classic, available on CD and digital formats from Ume, according to the announcement made on July 7, Ringo Starr’s 77th birthday. Apparently we will also get an incredible vinyl version of the album on September 27th. There is so much to love about it, considering that the track list will be led by “We’re on the Road Again” featuring Edgar Winter, Joe Walsh, and Steve Lukather. Paul McCartney’s got the bass covered this time around, along with some backing vocals. Throughout the album, expect to find friends of Starr lending their talents, from Peter Frampton to Richard Page, Nathan East to Don Was, and others such as Benmont Tench, Timothy B. Schmit, Steve Dudas, Richard Marx and Dave Stewart. Four remakes of past songs are also on the list to be included among the tracks, including “Back off Boogaloo” and “Photograph,” “Don’t Pass Me By” and “You Can’t Fight Lightning.”

Give More Love is Beatles drummer Ringo Starr’s 19th solo album and he’s killing it. There are ten tracks to the LP, which is already available for pre-order. He certainly does not look his age, and the idea that he wanted to spread some “Peace and Love” on his birthday is most definitely  an appealing one. A tour is also expected in the fall, featuring his all-star team and with 19 shows planned. It will begin on October 13th with eight dates planned out for Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, circling around until November 16th, for just over a month, ending the stint in Newark, New Jersey.
