Chive Fest Seattle 2014

Band Spotlight – Steel Panther

By Travis Boggs

Steel Panther, A heavy metal band hailing from Los Angeles, hit the stage at nine during Chive Festival in Seattle Saturday night.  The largest crowd up to that point gathered in front of the Sanuk Stage. Front man Michael Starr was all energy bringing a crowd that had been partying since 2 pm back to life on a hot Seattle day. The bands’ 80’s style metal was a nice change of pace from the indie music that had been played so far throughout the day (with the exception of Birds of Satan). Guitarist Satchel and Michael Starr went back and fourth trading vulgarities and making fun of the crowd as well as the rest of the band Lexxi Fox on bass and Stix Zadinia on drums, of course all in good fun. The band took Chive Fest to another level once they started rocking out on stage, a set full of crowd surfing, beautiful women dancing on stage and Loud & Humorous  heavy metal was a huge crowd pleaser for the Chivers who flocked from all over the country to attend one of the four Chive festival’s being held in the festival’s first year.
