System of a Down has confirmed that they will be touring the US. This will be the band’s first tour in 3 years. As of now, there are four shows confirmed for October 2018. One of these four shows will be a headlining slot for the Aftershock Festival that will be held in Sacramento.
The other tour dates that have been announced so far are for San Diego, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. System of a Down will be joined by Skeleton Witch and At The Drive-In for theses dates. Prior to the announcement of their tour, the band posted a series of military and industrial-complex themed beach party photos that serve as a countdown. The last photo from the series provides the complete poster announcing the band’s tour dates. The photo was captioned simply as “See you this fall.”
System of a Down has not released and will not release a new album. Their last album release was in 2005 with “Mesmerize/Hypnotize”. In fact, the band broke up shortly after the release of this album. However, they eventually reunited in 2010. Other than these new tour dates, there are no details of a new album. Still, fans are hopeful for a new record – especially with the new tour launched this year. System of a Down previously opened up in an interview about the band’s efforts to make new music. However, they revealed that they still have a long way to go.
