The Band Perry Share New Single
Music Mix Daily Staff
The last time we talked about The Band Perry was in relation to their stellar performance at this year’s CMA Music Festival. Yet again, the sibling trio made our day by appearing on Good Morning America with a new single (soon to be hit single, we’re sure) off of their as-of-yet unannounced new album.
The song, called “Live Forever,” features Kimberly Perry on lead vocals and guitar, Reid Perry on the bass and Neil Perry on the drums. Kimberly shared that the song is a “kingpin” of the new album. That is good news for us, since we loved the song and would be happy to hear a whole album that has the same “spirit” as the new song!
As a band that prides itself on its vocals and has won numerous vocal-specific awards, the lyrics to their songs take on a great importance. Kimberley feels that the song really reflects the bands goals of shooting for the stars in their work, reflected in the lyrics “This time I want it all, I want it right now, feel the fall.” She went on to thank her amazing fans for supporting the band and helping them get to this great place in their career – what a sweetheart!
Kimberley is sure right about the fan base – the group has skyrocketed to success since the release of their first studio album in 2010, which featured the popular track “If I Die Young.” Three years later, The Band Perry released their second album Pioneer, which included the number one singles “Better Dig Two“ and “Done,” alongside several other Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs.
For “Live Forever“, the band collaborated with RedOne, who is best known for his work with Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. The writing was a collaboration and, according to Kimberly, the whole band knew it was destined to be their first single the second they heard it playback!
We’ll be looking forward to more news about the new album and we hope it comes soon!
