DNCE was just nominated for Best Duo/Group of the Year for iHeartRadio’s 2017 Music Awards. So we thought we’d take a look at some interesting facts about this group, led by Joe Jonas! Read on…

1. The group is made up of members Joe Jonas (lead singer), Cole Whittle (bassist), JinJoo Lee (guitarist), and Jack Lawless (drummer). It was officially formed in 2015, and is definitely much more alternative than the Jonas Brothers.

2. What’s in a name? Well, DNCE has given several reasons for choosing their’s. Joe Jonas has said that it means the “imperfect awesome[ness] of the four of [them] together.” JinJoo Lee has said in interviews that you don’t have to be a good dancer to have fun, and that’s why letters are omitted from the spelling of “dance”.

3. Last March, they released a video cover of “Work” by Rihanna. The coolest part: They didn’t use instruments. Instead, they used office supplies like staplers and calculators! You really have to check it out.

4. The band truly loves iHeart Radio. In fact, they actually debuted during the second day of the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival.
