Known for their hits such as “Sweater Weather” and “Female Robbery”, The Neighbourhood is back with a new album that they released in late 2015. Wiped Out! is the title of the album as well as their upcoming 2016 summer tour. Here’s some fast facts about this innovative group that seems to seamlessly combine atmospheric indie rock with R&B, electronic and hip-hop music.

1. The Neighbourhood is a 5-piece band from California made up of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and the Zope™, drummer Brandon Alexander Fried, and bassist Mikey Margott. The band has said that driving the Pacific Coast Highway to the studio while making their first album was inspiration for their hits.

2. In 2012 they released the dark video for “Female Robbery” online, with no photos of themselves or any information about the band. The mystery surrounding them captured the attention of fans and the press.

3. The band loves to use black and white imagery in their videos and artwork. They chose their logo, an upside down house because it was “aesthetically pleasing”.
